A Calm, Babyled Experience in the Heart of the Borders

My garden studio in Innerleithen is warm, peaceful and fully set up with everything you and your baby need. Designed with comfort and calm in mind, it's the perfect place to slow down, snuggle in and capture those once in a lifetime newborn moments.

I welcome families from across the Scottish Borders and Edinburgh who want honest, natural newborn photography that feels like them.

Simple, Minimal and True to You

My approach is natural and minimalist. No props, no forced posing, just your baby, exactly as they are.

We’ll gently capture all the little details: tiny fingers and toes, a yawn, a stretch, the way your baby fits in your arms. We’ll also take time to photograph you as a family, those first quiet moments together that are over far too quickly.

When Should I Book My Newborn Session?

The ideal time for newborn photography is when your baby is between 7 and 14 days old. At this stage, they’re usually sleepy, curled and flexible, with that gorgeous fresh skin.

That said, if your baby is a little older don’t worry. We can still go ahead with the session. Just know they may be more alert, and the images might look slightly different (but still just as beautiful).

Session Length and What to Expect

Each session lasts between 1 and 3 hours, with plenty of flexibility.

That might sound like a long time, but it’s designed to be slow and unhurried. There’s time for feeds, cuddles, changes and homemade cake.

My job is to help you feel relaxed, because when you’re calm, your baby will be too. That’s when the magic happens.
